Damian Whitewood is Australian professional ballroom Dancer
Damian Whitewood grew up in Perth, Australia.[1] He started dancing at the age of ten and has been Australian Champion, WA State Champion and Australasian Champion in Ballroom and Latin American styles. He has also represented Australia in the Worlds Youth Latin in Germany, the Worlds Youth Ballroom in Russia and was a semi-finalist at the Blackpool International Championships in the UK.
In 2000, he stopped competing to become a cast member of the popular stage show Burn the Floor. He's been touring with the production ever since. Career highlights along the way have been sharing the stage with the likes of James Brown, Shirley Bassey and Deep Purple in Monte Carlo.[1]
He has appeared on Dancing With The Stars in Australia and America and So You Think You Can Dance in Australia and Holland.[2] He was paired with Pamela Anderson on the tenth season ofDancing With The Stars and on the seventh season of Bailando por un sueño. Damian's ex-girlfriend is Peta Murgatroyd. They reportedly broke up in early 2012. Damian and Peta were the leads in Burn The Floor prior to Damian's joining DWTS US, Peta was a "troupe" member prior to pro on DWTS.
In 2012 Whitewood competed in Australia's Dancing with the Stars with Russell Crowe's wife singer Danielle Spencer.
